Getting started

Five steps from a new account to your first post going out, with your own website publishing first every time.

  1. 1. Sign in

Create a scatterpost account and sign in to the dashboard. A new workspace starts on the Free plan; you can upgrade later from Settings.

  2. 2. Connect your website

Your own website always publishes first, and the URL it returns becomes the canonical link on every cross-post, so search engines and AI answer engines attribute the piece to you. Connect it from Channels, in push mode (scatterpost calls your endpoint) or pull mode (your site polls scatterpost). See the website connector docs for the setup, including a signature verification sample for Next.js and for WordPress. No website yet? Ask your AI agent about the blog starter, or connect one later and set canonical_url by hand in the meantime.

  3. 3. Connect channels

From Channels, connect Dev.to with an API key, or sign in directly to Hashnode, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon or X. Each platform tile shows Connected or Connect; clicking Connect opens one focused panel for that platform, so you never fill in a form that is not for it.

  4. 4. Write and publish

Write a post in Posts, choose the channels to send it to, then Publish now or Schedule. A short social post and a full blog article both start the same way; a short post just keeps the body short enough for the platforms you chose.

  5. 5. Connect your AI agent

Create an API key in Settings with the scopes you want to hand your agent, then add scatterpost as an MCP server. See the MCP server docs for Claude Code, Claude.ai and Cursor, and how AI agents use scatterpost for what your agent sees once it connects.
